JobsHQ is the premiere job recruitment resource that covers North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin, and averages over 200,000 vistors and delivers over one million page views per month.
I took over JobsHQ as the lead developer in 2005 and added new features to the website, such as an improved search function, additional Featured Employer and Job Seeker options, and JobFlick videos. I also led and implemented the first site redesign in 2007.
A new site design and additional features were planned in 2010; however, JobsHQ had outgrown the outdated structure it was first developed on. Over the final months of the year, I rebuilt the website from the ground up, with new source code developed in ColdFusion, and a new relational database structure built on MySQL.
The new features included a vastly improved search functionality, which included a radius search based on a chosen location, and a new resume building tool, which allowed job seekers to build and print a professional looking resume all from JobsHQ. Additional features were also added in for Featured Employers, which allowed them to create a JQuery based widget to pull in their job listings and display them on their own website.
